Sozni was founded in 2017 by Qayoom Doond, a native of Kashmir.
Kashmir is renowned for the quality of its traditional crafts, and Qayoom himself was born into an artisan family. He grew up near the master craftsmen, learning about their world of arts and crafts. It is Sozni’s mission to bring some of Kashmir’s beautifully made, unique and individual items to the wider world.
At the same time, we aim to sustain the livelihood of our Kashmiri families and suppliers, giving them a fair price for their goods; items that they make from purely natural materials, in a timehonouredand traditional way.
We also want to ensure that these skills, passed down through the generations, do not die out.•Sozni, spearheaded byQayoomand his Hong Kong born wife, originally traded in the Far East, gathering a large following. We have recently relocated to London and are in the process of building up an equally successful business here.

I met Sozni Kashmir since 2016 and was amazing about their hand embroidery wool scarf and the colour. The quality of their scarf are excellent. I always bought from their online shop as a gift to my friends, it never disappointed me when I received the actual goods - the quality, the softness and the looks! Love it, strongly recommend!
The Value of Sozni Kashmir
The craft of Kashmir has a rich and ancient history that has been passed down from generation to generation. Kashmir, a region located in the northern part of the Indian subcontinent, is renowned for its exquisite craftsmanship in various fields such as textiles, embroidery, woodwork, papier-mâché, and more.
Pashmina - Passing Down as an Heirloom
Pashmina is often considered a valuable family heirloom, passed down through generations. This transfer can occur on special occasions such as weddings, births, or important milestones. The act of passing down a pashmina signifies the passing on of heritage, traditions, and memories.
Pashmina holds sentimental value due to its association with personal stories, memories, and the people who have worn it. The recipient of a pashmina heirloom may feel a deep connection to their family's history and values, fostering a sense of continuity and belonging.
In order to ensure the endurance of this art in the present day, Sozni Kashmir remains steadfast in its dedication to promoting the genuine tradition of Kashmiri Handicrafts. In the face of globalization and the rise of mass production, which pose a potential threat to the intrinsic, handmade elegance embodied by pashmina, Sozni Kashmir persists in safeguarding this authentic heritage.
